Since 1979, our Association has become a key player in the field of international cooperation and sustainable development. With the launch of the project “ASPEm 2.0: Innovation and Growth”, we are ready to write a new chapter in our story, addressing today’s challenges with a future-oriented strategic vision.
This project aims to strengthen our organizational structure across various areas: improving communication, diversifying funding sources, digitizing processes, and fostering a much-needed generational renewal.
The objectives

A strategic ambition
At the heart of ASPEm 2.0 lies the integration of sustainability, organizational continuity, and meaningful generational renewal. Empirical analyses of our work have enabled us to identify several critical areas on which to focus our efforts.
Among these, improving communication is essential to strengthening our identity, fostering a deeper connection with the community, and making our initiatives more accessible and visible. Additionally, enhancing the digitalization of our processes is crucial to boosting operational efficiency and supporting strategic planning capabilities.
At the core of everything, however, is the engagement of young people. ASPEm is committed to promoting generational renewal by encouraging equal opportunities and gender equity, with the goal of ensuring the continuity and vitality of our activities over time. This will allow the creation of innovative projects that combine social activism with inclusivity.
We want to highlight our strengths and uniqueness as the only non-governmental organization in the Cantù area with a significant presence of women in leadership roles—an element that reinforces our commitment to gender equality and the involvement of all segments of society.
This vision enables the generation of new energy, knowledge, and ideas, offering a renewed outlook for the future of the association.
Lastly, to give value to all the work carried out, people raising activities will be essential and tailored to the local contexts: starting with the municipality of Cantù, where our historical roots lie, then expanding to the province of Como, and finally to the countries where we operate—Peru, Bolivia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Morocco.
Expected impact
The positive impact of ASPEm 2.0 will not be limited to the internal sphere—it will also extend outward, strengthening collaborations with local communities and international organizations with which ASPEm is connected. This project, along with the new organizational structure, will ensure greater effectiveness in our cooperation and project development activities, enabling us to expand our impact both locally and on the international stage.
