Embark on an international volunteering journey
ASPEm participates in Italian and European programs to offer opportunities for volunteering periods at its international offices or with local partners. Projects are currently being implemented in Bolivia, Peru, and Guatemala.
Through our projects, we offer young people the opportunity to put their passions and skills into practice, working closely with local communities to tackle social, environmental, and educational challenges..
We advertise available positions through our social media channels and newsletter: follow us to stay updated!

What we ask of our volunteers
- Be mindful
We are “guests” in a country and of the partner organizations we collaborate with. ASPEm cooperation is based on recognizing and valuing diversity through exchanges between individuals and communities, fostering mutual influence, learning, and growth. - Be curious
Curiosity fuels creativity and adaptability, enabling the discovery of new and effective ways to contribute to collective well-being.
It also means having an open mind and a desire to explore and understand the world around us, asking questions, and seeking answers. - Be positive
We know that a volunteering experience can be life-changing. Being ready for change means being flexible and willing to step out of your comfort zone in unfamiliar contexts. Every project can present challenges and unexpected situations, but overcoming them requires a positive and proactive mindset.
Civilian Alternative Service

Civilian Alternative Service is a voluntary decision to dedicate several months of one’s life to the non-armed and non-violent defense of the nation, to education, to fostering peace among peoples, and to promoting the foundational values of the Italian Republic through actions for communities and territories.

Specific skills, abilities, and sensitivities—already present in the young people who choose to commit themselves to these “new fronts”—will also be enhanced through targeted and high-quality training.
Civilian Peace Corps offer the opportunity to engage in non-violent actions to promote peace and manage conflicts in contexts of social or environmental emergencies. Projects can take place both in Italy and abroad, in collaboration with local and international organizations.
To participate, you need to:
- Legally reside in Italy;
- Be between 18 and 28 years old (28 years and 364 days) at the time of application submission;
- Hold at least a secondary school diploma;
- Have proficiency at the B2 level of English and of a second foreign language relevant to the project.
