ASPEm is an Italian NGO
founded in Cantù in 1979.
Today we work in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
Cooperation, interaction and global citizenship education are fundamental elements to face worldwide challenges and to promote a more just and sustainable world.
Our work is based on a combination of direct and hands-on actions, awareness and advocacy. We work together with local communities, government institution and other organisations to promote a positive and longlasting change.
In every part of the world ASPEm presence is characterised by the local partners support. Our projects are always born from the population needs. We consider fundamental to carefully listen to the local communities we work with and to understand their specific needs. That’s why we are committed to establish an open and inclusive dialogue with people, actively involving them in the projects implementation process.
Vision and Mission
ASPEm upholds the value and dignity
of individuals and communities, identifying solidarity
among peoples as a means to build a sustainable future.
ASPEm works with local partners to promote the protagonism of communities in both rural and outskirts areas, supporting and providing practical help to most vulnerable people.
ASPEm offers young Europeans the opportunity to live volunteering experiences in Countries where it directy works or with local partners in cooperation projects.
In Italy ASPEm promotes youth training about international solidarity, the promotion of volunteering and environmental sustainability.
Comparing and encountering with others is central in the organisation acting: it is a core value in every collaboration, that is expressed in supporting and participating in networks of cooperation locally, regionally and nationally.
